When 20 my feels too light, go for 25 my. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for gusseted bags in robust grades such as this 18 x 4 x 35 cm bag. The thicker film is stiffer and more tear-resistant, which suits tools, hardware and goods with sharp edges.
Film thickness is the main difference from the 18 and 20 my bags of the same size. A 25 my bag is stiffer, keeps its shape better when standing and resists tearing and puncturing better. It is the grade to choose when contents have corners, points or rough surfaces.
Think of hardware such as brackets, hinges and fittings, hand tools, hose clamps, boxes of screws, spare parts, sharp-edged plastic parts or sets of kitchen knives in their sleeves. With the 18 cm width these bags also hold bundled profiles and larger sets.
Fill the bag with the heaviest side down, fold over the top and close it with tape, a clip or a heat sealer. The bag is open and not resealable. The stiffer film makes the fold stand more firmly, which gives a neat result with a heat sealer.
The film is transparent and suitable for direct food contact, so the same bag can also hold bread, vegetables or dry goods. LDPE is a recyclable plastic. If the contents are light and smooth, the same size in 18 or 20 my is the more economical choice.

25 my is stiffer and more resistant to tearing and puncturing. It is a better choice for hard, angular or sharp contents, and it keeps its shape better when the bag is standing.
Yes, tools and hardware are typical contents. Test a sample with your sharpest or most angular item to be sure the thickness is right for your goods before ordering a full box.
A heat sealer may need a slightly longer sealing time for thicker film. Test and adjust your sealer on a few bags, or use tape or a clip if you pack by hand.
Yes. The LDPE is suitable for direct food contact in every thickness. The thicker grade is simply stiffer and more resistant, which can be handy for heavier food items.
