Baguettes and long bread

This is one of the sizes that handles an ordinary baguette. The 45 cm length lets the loaf lie inside with a few centimetres to spare, and the 14 cm width accommodates its round shape. Bakeries also use the bag for ciabatta sticks, long rolls and breadsticks by the dozen.

Other long goods

Besides bread, the bag suits asparagus, rhubarb, leeks, long-stemmed flowers in a bunch, mop handles, curtain rails and long hoses. The side gusset gives volume so that the bundle sits in the bag instead of being compressed.

Closing and use

• Fold the top over and secure with tape, a clip or a heat sealer.
• The bag is open and cannot be resealed.
• The film is transparent, so the product stays visible.

The film is suitable for direct food contact and the LDPE can be recycled. The 20 my thickness is flexible; for sharper goods, a thicker grade is stiffer and more resistant to puncturing. If your baguettes are particularly long, check the 50 cm version of this width.

For smaller loaves or shorter bundles, a 38 cm bag in the same width fits more snugly and uses less film.

It is best to let bread cool first, then bag it, fold the top over and close it with tape or a clip. The film is suitable for direct food contact.

Which sizes are better for flowers?

For long-stemmed bunches, 45 cm covers many cases. Choose a wider bag for larger bouquets, or one with a deeper gusset if the bunch is thick.

How do I stop the bag from tipping over?

Fill it so the product is evenly distributed. The gusset creates a base, so a filled bag stands more stably than a flat one, particularly when you place it in a crate.
