Forty centimetres long yet only 10 cm wide: the 10 x 4 x 40 cm gusseted bag takes products that are long and thin. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for gusseted bags for long goods such as rods, hoses and spring onions. The film is transparent and suitable for food.
This is the length for products that are awkward to pack in a standard bag: spring onions and leeks with their tops, rhubarb, asparagus, garden canes, plant stakes, curtain rods, welding rods, flexible hoses and wooden dowels. The 10 cm width holds a bundle of moderate thickness without wasting film.
A long, narrow bag without a gusset tends to fall over or collapse. The 4 cm gusset gives it a firm base once it is filled, so you can stand it upright in a crate while you load it. During storage in a box, the long bags stay neatly side by side.
The bag is open. Fold the top and close it with tape, a clip or a heat sealer. Food contact is fine: the film is suitable for it. LDPE is a recyclable plastic, and at 20 my the bag is flexible enough to follow the shape of your bundle.
If your bundles are even longer, the 45 cm bag in the same width is the next step up.

Packing something even longer? If you do not need side folds, our flat plastic bags are the simpler option. For made-to-measure lengths, tubular film can be cut and sealed yourself, and you will find more formats among our other gusseted bags.
Products such as spring onions, leeks, asparagus, garden canes and rods, where length is the limiting factor. Measure the product and add a few centimetres for the fold-over.
Yes. The LDPE film is suitable for direct food contact and transparent, so the freshness is visible. Close the bag with tape or a clip, or use a heat sealer for a tighter finish.
Once filled, the 4 cm side gusset opens and gives the bag a base. Very light or very tall contents may still lean, so support them in a crate or tray while you work.
Hold the bag open by the top, slide the bundle in with its heavier end first, then fold the top over and close it. A crate helps to keep the long bags upright while you load.
