Blue is the classic working colour in a warehouse: calm, easy to tell apart and never mistaken for a warning. This roll is 12.5 cm wide, 150 metres long and 23 my thick, supplied in a box of 24 rolls with a dispenser. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for mini wrapping film, in clear and in colour alike.

The wider 12.5 cm web is a deliberate choice here: the more film each turn puts on show, the sooner the colour registers from a distance.

Colour as a carrier of information

Anyone picking orders works with stacks that look alike. Give every set its own colour and nobody has to turn over a packing note to see what belongs together. In practice, blue is often tied to a regular customer, a fixed route, or to everything that is ready for dispatch.

Be clear about what this film does, though: at 23 my, blue is translucent. Outlines and shapes still show through. This film is made to mark and bundle, not to hide contents from view. If a parcel needs to be unrecognisable, choose the black version.

Setting up a colour scheme

A colour code only works when it is unambiguous. Write down what blue stands for, post the rule where people pack, and stick to two or three colours – nobody remembers more meanings than that. A temp worker should be able to read the scheme on day one without an explanation.

A worked example: every parcel in one customer order gets two blue turns at the same height. During loading, the driver sees at once whether a parcel has been left on the dock, even when the boxes are otherwise identical.

Frequently asked questions

Can a label or barcode be read through the film?

Through a single layer a label usually stays legible, but the blue tint lowers contrast and handheld scanners can struggle with that. Wrap around the label, or apply it on top of the film rather than underneath.

Why blue film instead of a coloured sticker?

A sticker sits on one face and disappears the moment the parcel is turned. Film runs all the way round and stays visible from every side. On top of that, you bundle in the same movement instead of bundling and labelling separately.

Does the blue shade stay stable in storage?

Indoors, yes. The film is not UV-stabilised, so it is not intended for prolonged outdoor storage; out there, any stretch film fades and weakens over time.

Is blue film stronger or weaker than clear?

Equally strong. The base is the same LLDPE at the same thickness with the same stretch of up to 150%; only the pigment has been added.
