Yes, a whole chicken of standard size fits comfortably. The gusset lets the bag mould itself around the shape of the product.

Which products is this bag overkill for?

For light products such as bread or vegetables, the 50 micron version in the same size is more economical and more than sufficient.

How do I stop bones piercing the bag?

Choose 70 micron, like this bag, and turn sharp ends inwards. For very sharp bones, you can shield the end with a piece of film first.
