Can I freeze liquids such as soup in this freezer bag?

Yes, as long as you close the bag properly and let it freeze flat or upright in a tub. Do not fill it to the top, as liquids expand slightly when frozen.

Why does this bag have a gusset?

The gusset gives the bag more capacity and a more stable shape when filled, making it easier to fill and helping it stay upright.

Do the bags hold up to marinades or oil?

Yes, LDPE resists moisture, oil and most marinades. The bag stays supple and leak-proof, provided it is properly closed.
