Small bones, shells and sharp edges easily puncture a thin bag. That is why this 11 x 4.5 x 30 cm freezer bag is made from extra-thick 70 micron LDPE. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for freezer bags in both standard and heavy-duty grades.

For chicken legs, prawns and game portions

Think bone-in chicken thighs, portioned spare ribs, shell-on prawns or game. The thicker film absorbs the pressure from sharp parts, so the bag stays intact during stacking, transport and removal from the freezer.

Longer storage life in the cold store

A thick film lets less air and moisture through, helping to prevent freezer burn on products stored for months. Close the bag with a cable tie to keep it airtight. For lighter products, the same size is also available in a 50 micron version.

Why choose 70 micron instead of 50 micron?

70 micron is around 40% thicker than 50 micron. This makes the bag more resistant to punctures from bones or shells and protects the contents from drying out for longer.

Is this bag suitable for shellfish and crustaceans?

Yes, the thick film is ideal for shell-on prawns, mussels and other products with hard, sharp edges.

Is the thicker film harder to close?

No, 70 micron LDPE stays supple. Simply twist the neck and close it with a cable tie or heat-seal it.
