Tape dispenser for 10cm wide tape - 1 piece
Tape dispenser for 10cm wide tape
Large, heavy and oversized cartons call for a wider strip than the usual 50 mm. This hand dispenser takes rolls up to 100 mm wide on a 76 mm core — and it is precisely this kind of work for which, since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for tape dispensers.
What a 100 mm strip gives you
One strip instead of two or three
A long seam on a big carton is rarely closed in one pass with 50 mm tape: a second and often a third strip goes alongside it. At 100 mm the same seam is closed in a single pass. That removes two cycles of starting, pressing down and cutting per carton — over several hundred cartons a day it adds up to a noticeably shorter throughput time at the bench.
More adhesive surface, more hold
Adhesion on corrugated board is largely a question of surface area. A 100 mm strip has twice the contact with the board that a 50 mm strip has and spreads the pulling forces over a wider area. With heavy contents, high pallet stacks and consignments that are handled several times in transit, the flap seam therefore stays closed more reliably.
Sealing seams wide
On large cartons the flaps do not always meet flush, and on export packaging you want the seam covered generously. The wide strip bridges a slightly open joint and reaches far enough onto the board on both sides, so dust and moisture have less opportunity to get in.
Build and handling
Steel frame with hard plastic handle
The frame is steel and the handle hard plastic, in a blue and white finish. At 1 kg the dispenser is deliberately heavier in the hand than a 50 mm model: that extra weight helps you press the full width down without having to add force of your own. The frame does not flex while you do it.
Pressure roller across the full width
The extra width calls for a firm pressure roller that lays the strip down evenly across all 100 mm. Work at a calm, even speed and keep the dispenser flat on the board. Move too fast or tilt it, and one edge of the strip is pressed down less well, leaving an air line along the seam.
Tool-free roll changes
Slide the empty core off the spindle, fit the new roll with the adhesive side facing out and feed the tape over the pressure roller towards the serrated blade. Rolls of 100 mm are heavier than the standard width, so lay the dispenser down flat while you change them. Matching rolls are in our packaging tape range.

Applications
- Large and oversized cartons: furniture components, displays and long boxes where one wide strip covers the whole flap seam.
- Heavy consignments: cartons holding machine parts, liquids or print work whose bottom seam needs extra adhesive surface.
- Export packaging: shipments that are transhipped several times and whose seams must stay sealed throughout.
- High pallet stacks: bottom layers carrying the weight of the stack, where a narrow strip offers too little hold.

Frequently asked questions
Can I also use narrower tape in it?
Yes. A roll of, say, 50 mm on a 76 mm core fits the spindle and runs through without trouble. It will have sideways play on the spindle and can wander slightly, so push it up against one side to keep the strip running on the same line.
When do you choose 100 mm tape rather than 50 mm?
As soon as the carton is large or heavy, or the flaps do not close flush. For standard shipping boxes 50 mm is ample; for oversized cartons, heavy contents and export consignments the wider strip gives more hold and saves you a second and third pass per carton.
Does wide tape take more force to unwind and cut?
A little more, because adhesive has to be released from the roll and cut across the full width. In practice it is hardly noticeable if you work at an even speed and lift the dispenser in one movement at the end of the strip. Jerking at it takes more effort and leaves a ragged cut.
Why does the 76 mm core diameter matter?
The spindle is dimensioned for this core size. Rolls with a smaller core, 25 mm office tape for instance, will not fit onto it. Virtually all industrial carton-sealing tape is supplied on a 76 mm core, so in practice that is the standard you will be working with.
