Mobile starter set polyester strapping 13 mm – extended

Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for polyester strapping and complete strapping sets. This extended starter set equips a full strapping station in one go: a reel of Unistrap polyester strapping 13 mm wide and 1100 metres long, a mobile reel holder on wheels, a box of 1000 metal buckles, an AVT tensioner and 100 plastic corner protectors. Every component is matched to the others, so you never have to work out which buckle fits which strap width.

What is 13 mm polyester strapping used for?

Polyester strapping in 13 mm has a break load of 375 kg. That is more than enough for bundling boxes, securing light to medium-weight pallets and tying together profiles, boards or tubes. Because the strap is woven, it feels soft and will not damage your goods – a key difference from steel strapping. It stretches slightly and springs back, so tension is maintained when a load settles during transport.

Polyester strapping also resists weather, absorbs almost no moisture and is UV-resistant. It does not rust, which makes this set just as usable on an outdoor loading dock as inside the warehouse.

What is included in this set?

• Unistrap polyester strapping 13 mm x 1100 metres, white – woven polyester strap with a 375 kg break load.
• Mobile reel holder for polyester strapping – on wheels, so you take the strap to the load instead of the other way round. Suitable for 13, 16 and 19 mm strap widths.
• 1000 metal buckles 13 mm (type B4) – a full box, for both polyester strapping and PP strapping.
• AVT tensioner – for strap widths from 13 to 19 mm, with integrated cutter.
• 100 plastic corner protectors 35 x 24 mm, black – open design, protecting both the load edges and the strap.

How to strap with a buckle and tensioner

Wheel the mobile reel holder up to the load and run the strap around the pallet. Fit a plastic corner protector on each edge so the strap does not cut into the corner and the pressure is spread evenly. Then slide a metal buckle over both strap ends and pull the joint tight with the AVT tensioner. The tensioner clamps the strap and cuts off the surplus straight away. No compressed air, power supply or sealing machine is required.

Which operations is this set built for?

The set is a favourite in dispatch and shipping departments, timber merchants, nurseries, print shops and construction firms – anywhere a manageable number of pallets or bundles leaves the building each day and a fully automatic strapping machine would be overkill. What does a 375 kg break load mean in practice?

It is the force the strap can absorb before it snaps. In day-to-day use that covers boxes, bundled battens, tubes, plastic profiles and light to medium-weight pallets without trouble. For heavy, rigid loads that may shift in transit, 16 or 19 mm strapping with a higher break load is the better choice.

What is the advantage of a mobile reel holder?

You wheel the reel up to the pallet instead of dragging strap across the floor. That saves walking, keeps the strap clean and prevents kinks in the reel. On changing loading spots or a long loading lane you notice the difference every day.

Can I use the reel holder for 16 or 19 mm strap later on?

Yes. The supplied mobile reel holder takes 13, 16 and 19 mm strap. If your packaging needs grow, you only replace the strap, the buckles and possibly the tensioner – the reel holder stays in service.

Why metal buckles instead of a sealing tool?

A buckle joint is entirely manual and needs no power or compressed air. That makes the set usable straight from the box, including on a loading dock or outdoor yard. A buckle joint can also be re-tensioned afterwards if the load settles.

Will the strap damage my products?

Woven polyester strapping is soft and does not scratch, unlike steel strapping. On sharp or vulnerable edges we still recommend using the supplied corner protectors: they distribute the tension and stop the strap from pressing into the load.

Are the plastic corner protectors reusable?

The open 35 x 24 mm design is sturdy enough for repeated use, for example in internal transport or with returnable packaging. On one-way shipments the corners simply travel with the load. With 100 pieces in the set you are covered for a good while; extra boxes can be reordered separately.

Is the strap suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. Polyester strapping is weather-resistant, absorbs very little moisture and withstands UV radiation. It does not rust, which makes it a convenient alternative to steel strapping for outdoor storage.
