Storage blankets XXL 150 x 300 cm for what the standard size will not cover

The standard 150 x 200 cm covers most things, but not everything. A 2.40 metre wardrobe, a double mattress, a sofa with chaise longue or a stack of eight chairs always ends up sticking out. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for storage blankets and moving blankets, which is why we supply this XXL version of 150 x 300 cm in a pack of five. One extra metre sounds modest, but it is precisely the metre that things run aground on in practice.

One large blanket beats two small ones

It is tempting to overlap two standard blankets. It rarely works. The joint between them opens into a gap that shifts wider with every movement, and it is exactly there that dust settles in a sharp line you cannot simply wipe away later. On top of that you have to secure two blankets instead of one. At 300 cm the weave runs across the full height or length: no overlap, no dust line, one securing operation.

1550 grams: same weave, more surface

The XXL weighs 1550 grams against 1100 grams for the standard size. That is not because the fabric is heavier, but because there is more of it: the same woven textile of roughly 350 grams per m², spread over 4.5 instead of 3 square metres. So it protects just as well as the standard size, only across a larger area. If you want more mass rather than more surface, look at the moving blankets.

Breathable and 100% recycled

The XXL is also woven from a mix of fabrics including wool and hemmed all round. The weave lets water vapour through, so moisture condensing overnight on a cold surface can evaporate instead of causing white marks or mould. XXL, standard size or moving blanket?

Choose the XXL on format: when the object is taller or longer than two metres. If it fits comfortably under 150 x 200 cm, the standard size is easier to handle and quicker to fold. If the object is going to move, size is not the deciding factor but weight is: then you need a 1300 gram moving blanket, or for delicate pieces the padded blanket of 183 x 203 cm. Combine with furniture covers over mattresses and upholstery and with corner profiles on protruding corners.

Frequently asked questions

Why not simply lay two standard blankets side by side?

Because the overlap becomes the weak point. Two blankets slide apart as soon as someone walks past or the stack settles slightly, and a line of dust marks that joint. A continuous 300 cm blanket does not have that problem and takes fewer handling steps both when covering and when clearing up.

Is the XXL weave thicker than the standard size?

No. It is exactly the same weave at the same density of roughly 350 grams per m². The higher figure of 1550 grams comes entirely from the larger area. So expect the same protection per square metre, not more cushioning.

Will an XXL blanket cover a tall wardrobe or a double mattress?

Yes. Over a wardrobe of 2.20 to 2.40 metres the blanket still hangs far enough down both sides not to slip off. A double mattress of 180 x 200 cm is covered lengthways by one blanket, sides included. For a divan base in two halves, use one blanket per half.

Can I cover a pallet of furniture components with the XXL?

You can. A Euro pallet of 120 x 80 cm with a build-up can be covered lengthways by 300 cm, with the blanket overhanging generously on both sides. Secure the whole thing afterwards with hand wrapping film or strapping so the blanket cannot shift during internal transport.
