This pack of five grey storage blankets of 150 x 200 cm is the smallest working stock that genuinely makes sense: enough to equip a van, an installation crew or one corner of the showroom, without bringing in a pallet of textile. Each blanket weighs 1100 grams, roughly 350 grams per m², and is built for furniture that stands still — not for furniture going into the van.

Woven textile, not fleece and not film

The storage blanket is woven from a mix of fabrics including wool and hemmed all round. That hem is not a cosmetic detail: it holds the weave together so the edge cannot fray when you shake the blanket out and fold it away dozens of times. Because this is genuine woven textile and not sealed film, the blanket lets water vapour through. Moisture rising overnight from a cold concrete floor, or out of the timber itself, evaporates instead of sitting against the lacquered surface. That saves you white marks on lacquered wood and musty patches on upholstery.

Why 1100 grams and not heavier?

A blanket that lies over a cabinet for weeks does not have to absorb impact. Above all it must be light enough to throw over quickly, store compactly and straighten with one hand. At 1100 grams you keep that working pace, while the weave still has enough body to hold back dust, light and surface dirt. Once the item is moved and strapped down, the heavier 1300 gram moving blanket is the right choice.

100% recycled: fibres and stitching thread

Both the felt — the fibres themselves — and the polyester stitching thread used to finish the blanket are made entirely from recycled material. If you buy on sustainability criteria, that is a hard figure rather than an intention. See the rest of the range under sustainable packaging materials.

Which blanket suits which moment?

If the item stands still, this 1100 gram storage blanket is enough. If it goes on transport, use the 1300 gram moving blanket: denser weave, higher tensile strength and a rough surface that will not slide off lacquered wood. For delicate furniture with sharp corners there is the padded blanket of 183 x 203 cm, with a filling that absorbs impact. Add furniture covers over upholstery and floor protectors along the walking route.

Frequently asked questions

How many items can I cover with five storage blankets?

Count on one blanket per large item: a cabinet, a sofa, a dining table or a desk. Five blankets therefore cover a typical shop display or a complete room set. For loose chairs and small cabinets you can slide two or three pieces under a single blanket.

Can I lay the blanket on a freshly lacquered or oiled top?

Not straight away. A fresh coat of lacquer or oil needs days to cure fully and stays tacky in the meantime. Textile lying on it presses into the coating and leaves imprints. Wait out the curing time stated by the manufacturer and only then lay the blanket over the surface.

How do I avoid fibres being left on a display model?

Shake a new blanket out a few times outdoors before its first use; that releases the loose fibres from the weaving process. On dark high-gloss and velvet you can also lay a thin sheet of foam foil on the surface first and place the blanket over it.

Does a pack of five take up much space in the van?

No. Five blankets weigh around 5 kilos together and fit folded into an ordinary crate or under the bench seat. That is exactly why this pack is popular with installation teams: it travels with you permanently without costing load space.
