Storage blanket XXL 150 x 300 cm for large items of furniture

Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for moving blankets and storage blankets, and this XXL version is the size you reach for when the standard blanket falls just short. At 150 x 300 cm it covers a two-door wardrobe, a three-seater sofa or a mattress in a single span, with no overlap in the middle. The blanket weighs 1550 grams, is grey and is supplied here as a single piece (approx. 1.5 kg).

Why one long span beats two blankets laid over each other

Lay two 200 cm blankets over a tall wardrobe and you create a seam down the middle. That is where dust works its way in, and that is where the top blanket slides off first as soon as someone drives past with a pallet truck. A three-metre span runs across the top and well down both sides, so the weight of the blanket itself holds it in position. In a showroom or storage warehouse, that saves you straightening it out week after week.

Woven textile, not film

The storage blanket is woven from a mix of fabrics including wool and hemmed all round so the edges cannot fray. Because it is genuine textile, it lets water vapour through. Over weeks or months of storage that is the difference between a dry furniture surface and condensation trapped under a sealed cover: under plastic, moisture settles on the cold surface overnight and has nowhere to go, leaving white marks on lacquered wood and mould on upholstery. Both the fibres and the polyester stitching thread are 100% recycled material, and the blanket is washable at a maximum of 30 °C.

The XXL is still a storage blanket: it is built for furniture that stands still and keeps off dust, light and surface dirt. If the item goes into the van and under a ratchet strap, choose the heavier 1300 gram moving blanket, which is more densely woven and will not tear under tension. For delicate pieces with sharp corners there is the padded blanket of 183 x 203 cm with the thickest cushioning. For upholstery there are also furniture covers, and along the walking route you lay floor protectors. To hold the blanket tight around a cabinet, mini stretch film works better than tape.

Frequently asked questions

How many items does one XXL storage blanket cover?

Count on one large item per blanket: a two-metre wardrobe, a three-seater sofa or a mattress. If you push smaller items together, the same three-metre span will also cover two bedside tables plus a chest of drawers in one go.

Does a 1550 gram blanket fit in an ordinary washing machine?

Yes. It does get considerably heavier when wet, so wash one at a time in a machine of 7 kg or more. Wash at a maximum of 30 °C and let the blanket dry fully spread out; folded, a blanket this size takes too long to dry and picks up a musty smell.

How do I fold a three-metre blanket on my own?

Fold the length in half to 150 cm, then in half again, and only then fold the width. That keeps the weight next to you rather than stretched out across the floor. Folded down, the XXL blanket is about the size of a standard one and fits the same shelf bay.

Can I lay this blanket over a full pallet in the warehouse?

You can. Three metres is enough to run across the top of a Euro pallet and hang down both sides, so you protect a stacked load against dust and incoming light without wrapping the carton or the product itself. For a pallet going into transport, add stretch film or strapping materials over the top.
