Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for padded blankets and moving blankets, and this is the heaviest and best-finished version we carry. At 2750 grams over 183 x 203 cm it sits 750 grams above the standard padded version, and that entire difference is filling - which is to say, material between your hand and the furniture. The blue/purple outer face with white stitching also makes it presentable in places where your kit is on show: in someone's home, in a showroom, or on an office move where the management team is walking alongside.
Filling works as a buffer: the more material there is, the longer an impact takes to reach the other side and the lower the peak that arrives at the furniture. On a flat panel you barely notice the difference. On a corner you do. There the filling is compressed until it can go no further, and at that moment the only thing that counts is how much there was to compress. This premium blanket keeps more in reserve at such a point than the standard version, which is exactly why you save it for marble, lacquered wood, high-gloss fronts and glass.
Moving kit is workwear: it speaks for your crew. A battered grey blanket draped over a customer's sofa says something different from a clean blue/purple blanket with crisp white stitching. The spunbond outer layer is smooth and closed, sheds no lint and transfers no colour - not onto cream upholstery and not onto a white lacquered front. That last point is not a detail: on pale furniture, a blanket that rubs off is a claim you only discover once the item is already in place.
The filling is made entirely from recycled material. The spunbond on the outside is new material, and it has to be: it is what produces the smooth, lint-free surface this version is known for. Two layers, two separate statements - which is why we list them separately in the specifications.

The woven 1100 gram storage blanket is the cheapest way to keep dust and light off furniture standing still. The woven moving blanket of 1300 grams is the working blanket for transport: high tensile strength and a rough surface that will not slide off lacquered wood. This premium padded blanket does not replace either of them; it supplements them. You put it on the five or ten items per job where a scratch converts directly into money. Combine with furniture covers for upholstery and mattresses, corner profiles on vulnerable edges and floor protectors along the route.
In weight and finish. The standard version weighs 2000 grams and is black with white stitching; this one weighs 2750 grams and has a blue/purple outer face. Size, construction and care are identical. Choose this version when the blanket is visible to the client or when the item deserves the maximum amount of cushioning.
It is noticeably heavier in the hand, but in practice that works in your favour: a heavy blanket stays where you put it and does not lift when the tail lift is open. It does take up more room in the stack. Expect roughly a quarter fewer blankets per metre of stack height than with the 2000 gram version.
No. The outer layer does not transfer colour, not even when the blanket has become damp. Do let a wet blanket dry before laying it over furniture again - not because of the colour, but because moisture trapped under a blanket can cause white marks on lacquered wood.
Watch for two things: zigzag seams that have pulled open, and areas where you can squeeze the filling almost flat between your fingers. The first lets the filling migrate; the second means the buffer at that point is used up. A blanket with a locally thin patch is still fine as an interleaf in the stack, but no longer as corner protection.
