Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for moving blankets, and this 150 x 200 cm version with green/white stripes is built for the moment the furniture moves. At 1300 grams per blanket the weave is noticeably denser than that of a storage blanket: it absorbs impact during lifting, strapping and driving. This pack contains 10 blankets, enough to equip a box truck or van in one go. The coloured stripes also mean you find your own blankets at the end of the day without any argument about whose stack is whose.

What 1300 grams does that a lighter blanket does not

The difference is not the size but the density of the weave. Because more fibre goes into every square metre, the blanket has a higher tear strength: it does not stretch out or split when you pull a ratchet strap tight over it. The surface is deliberately kept rough so the blanket grips lacquered wood and does not slide off a cabinet door the moment the vehicle brakes or crosses a threshold. And because there is simply more mass between the furniture and the load floor, vibration from the floor reaches the item far more softly.

Woven textile with hemmed edges

The blanket is woven from a mix of fabrics including wool and hemmed all round. In daily use that hem is the difference between a blanket that is still intact after two seasons and one that falls apart from the edge inwards. Washing is possible at a maximum of 30 °C; let the blanket dry completely before folding it away. Both the felt — the fibres themselves — and the polyester stitching thread are made entirely from recycled material, with no compromise on tear strength.

This 1300 gram moving blanket is made for furniture that moves. If the item stays put in a warehouse, showroom or storage unit, the lighter 1100 gram storage blanket is enough; its breathable weave prevents condensation underneath. For high-value furniture with sharp corners there is the padded blanket of 183 x 203 cm, with the heaviest cushioning exactly on those corners. Combine the blankets with furniture covers over upholstery, floor protectors along the walking route and accessories such as ratchet straps and lifting straps.

Frequently asked questions

Why do these moving blankets have green/white stripes?

The stripes are an identification mark. If you work at an address where the client, an installation team or a competing removals firm also uses blankets, you can see at a glance which stack is yours. That saves counting and discussion at the end of the day, and it saves blankets you would otherwise never see again.

How many moving blankets do I need for a full removal van?

In practice, budget around 20 to 30 blankets for a box truck carrying a complete household: cabinets and table tops each get their own blanket, and the load floor and bulkheads take another five or so. For a van with office furniture you will usually manage with 10 to 15 blankets, which is exactly what this pack puts on board.

Will the coloured stripes fade in the wash?

Wash at a maximum of 30 °C and the stripes stay colourfast. Washing hotter is not advisable anyway: the fibre mix can shrink and the weave becomes harder and stiffer. Wash coloured blankets separately the first time so that any loose pigment does not transfer to other blankets.

How much space does a pack of 10 blankets take up?

A pack of 10 blankets weighs around 13 kg and, compressed, is about the size of a filled moving box. It fits upright behind the passenger seat or under the bench. Keep the pack sealed until you need it: once unfolded, ten blankets take up considerably more room than they do in the original packaging.
