A blanket that slides off a cabinet protects nothing. Tape is not the answer either: on lacquered or veneered wood, adhesive leaves a dull mark you will never remove. That is exactly why this set exists. How blanket and elastic work together

The blanket does the protecting: woven from a mix of fabrics including wool, hemmed all round and breathable, so water vapour escapes and no condensation builds up against the furniture. The elastic does the holding. You stretch it around the item over the blanket, and the tension presses the textile against the surface instead of sticking anything to it. No adhesive ever touches the furniture, and you release the blanket in one movement without first removing residue. Because the three straps differ in length, one of them always fits: a short one around a chair or bedside table, a longer one around a pedestal unit or box, and the longest around a wardrobe or armchair.

Who is this set for?

For the smaller job where turning up with boxes full of blankets makes no sense: an installation team covering three appliances in a showroom, a furniture retailer setting sold pieces aside until delivery, or an office putting a few loose items into storage after an internal move. Three blankets are also a sensible way to judge the quality before you buy in larger volumes.

Storage blanket, moving blanket or padded blanket?

This set contains 1100 gram storage blankets: made for furniture that stands still and for keeping off dust, light and surface dirt. If the item goes into transport and gets lashed down, the 1300 gram moving blanket is the right choice, because the denser weave absorbs friction and impact and does not tear under a ratchet strap. For delicate pieces with sharp corners there is the padded blanket of 183 x 203 cm. Additional fixing materials are listed under moving accessories, and for upholstery there are furniture covers. If you would rather wrap a blanket than strap it, use mini stretch film.

Frequently asked questions

Why elastic straps rather than tape to fix the blanket?

Tape bonds to the furniture, elastic does not. Even tape removed carefully pulls at the lacquer and leaves a matt stripe on veneer and high gloss. An elastic strap works by tension all the way round, so nothing touches the surface but the blanket itself.

Which sizes of elastic strap are in the set?

Three different lengths. The shortest goes around a chair, bedside table or loose component, the middle one around a pedestal unit or box, and the longest around a wardrobe, armchair or stack. That saves you improvising with a single length that is always slightly too loose or too tight.

Do the straps leave marks on upholstery or lacquered wood?

Not if you stretch them over the blanket rather than directly onto the item. The textile spreads the pressure. Tension the strap enough to hold the blanket, but not so hard that the weave presses into a soft armrest.

Are the straps reusable, and how long do they last?

They are explicitly meant for repeated use. Store them relaxed, so not stretched around a piece of furniture or over a hook for months, and keep them out of direct sunlight: UV and permanent stretch are what eventually harden rubber.
