Thomas & Betts TY900-175X: extra long, extra strong black cable tie, 930 x 8.8 mm, 50 pieces

For the really big jobs, there is the TY900-175X. With an 8.8 mm strap and almost a metre in length, it secures bundles up to 263 mm in diameter at a tensile strength of 778 N. That makes it the strongest plastic tie from the Ty-Fast range in our assortment. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and this tie mostly goes out to projects where large hoses, ducts or pipes need holding together.

The tie is made of UV and heat stabilised polyamide 6.6, free of halogens and silicone, rated UL 94 V-2. The Ty-Fast head with its moulded-in nylon pawl holds the wide strap firmly once tightened. For similarly strong ties in other sizes, see our heavy-duty cable ties.

Applications for the largest bundles

The black version is UV resistant and therefore suitable for indoor and outdoor use. A strap this long goes around objects an ordinary tie cannot reach around, and the 8.8 mm width spreads the tension over a larger area.

The manufacturer states a tensile strength of 778 N, approx. 79 kg. That matches the 175 lb class referred to by the 175 in the part number.

What is the largest bundle I can secure with it?

According to ABB, the bundle range is 7 mm to 263 mm in diameter. On smaller bundles, simply trim the excess tail after tightening.

Why is the strap 8.8 mm wide?

A wider strap gives higher tensile strength. Whereas the 7.6 mm Ty-Fast ties fall into the 120 lb class, this 8.8 mm version reaches the 175 lb class.
