Ty-Fast® TY450-120X - 450mm x 7.6mm - black

Thomas & Betts TY450-120X: long black Ty-Fast, 450 x 7.6 mm, for tough outdoor work, 50 pieces

On a building site, on a farm or along an outdoor cable route, a tie has to take some punishment and still be long enough for a hefty bundle. That is what the TY450-120X is made for: black, UV resistant and suitable for bundles up to 130 mm. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and customers mainly pick this tie when standard lengths fall just short.

The weather-resistant polyamide 6.6 is UV and heat stabilised, free of halogens and silicone, and rated UL 94 V-2. The head features the proven Ty-Fast lock: a moulded-in nylon pawl that inserts easily and holds securely, with 540 N tensile strength. If you need even more, our heavy-duty cable ties include wider options.

TY450-120X specifications

Strong, long and built for outdoors

Thanks to the UV-resistant black version, this tie can stay outdoors for good. The 7.6 mm strap is less likely to bite into soft cable sheaths or hoses, and its length leaves enough room to tie around a pipe, post or beam.

Real-world examples

• Bundling temporary site power cables along scaffolding and site fencing
• Securing irrigation and water hoses to posts and stables
• Fixing outdoor cable routes to columns and pipes
• Thick hose packages on agricultural and earth-moving machinery

Looking for a different length in the same weather-resistant colour? See our black cable ties. If you prefer a lock with a stainless steel barb, we also stock metal tooth cable ties.

Frequently asked questions about the TY450-120X

What does the X in TY450-120X stand for?

At Thomas & Betts, the X denotes the black, weather-resistant version. The polyamide is UV stabilised and therefore suitable for outdoor use.

How does it differ from the TY450-120-50?

Both belong to the same Ty-Fast series with a 7.6 mm strap. The TY450-120-50 is natural and meant for indoor use only; the TY450-120X is black and UV resistant, so it also works outdoors.

Can I tie it around a post or pipe?

Yes, as long as the total bundle stays within the maximum bundle diameter of 130 mm – for example a pipe or post with a cable or hose fixed to it.
