View here the datasheet for the Thomas & Betts Ty-Fast cable ties.Bundles outdoors have a hard time: sun, rain and wind work on the strap day after day. The TY400-120X-100 is built for exactly that, as the black, UV-resistant version of the wide 375 mm Ty-Fast. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and installers mainly use this tie where a sizeable bundle of up to 102 mm has to stay secure outside.
The X in the part number stands for the black, weather-resistant version made from UV and heat stabilised polyamide 6.6. The nylon pawl is moulded in one piece with the head, combining low insertion force with high locking strength. Thanks to the double-sided finger grip and the SureGrip tab, the tail will not slip away even when you are wearing gloves. More lengths in this colour can be found among our black cable ties.

With 540 N tensile strength and a 7.6 mm strap, this tie is strong enough for heavy cables and lines on roofs, façades and fences. The 375 mm length leaves room to go around a post or pipe and take a bundle along at the same time.
If the bundle will sit in full sun for years, our extra UV-resistant cable ties go one step further. And if you want to tension these wide ties quickly and consistently, have a look at our cable tie tools.
The black polyamide of the TY400-120X-100 is UV stabilised, so the strap does not turn brittle in sunlight as quickly. White or natural ties such as the TY400-120-100 lack this protection and are meant for indoor use.
The tie can be used from -40 °C to +85 °C, but ABB specifies a minimum installation temperature of -20 °C. In harder frost, it is best to wait or keep the ties somewhere warm until just before use.
Yes. A cable tie tool pulls the 7.6 mm strap evenly tight and cuts the tail off flush, giving a neat finish without sharp ends.
