Long and slim: Thomas & Betts TY300-40X-100, black 290 x 3.6 mm cable tie, bag of 100

Sometimes a tie has to span a large circumference while the bundle itself is light. That is exactly what the TY300-40X-100 is made for: 290 mm long, yet with a narrow 3.6 mm strap. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and we supply this black Ty-Fast tie in a bag of 100 with a euro hang hole. Thanks to its length, it wraps around bundles from 6.4 to 76 mm in diameter.

The material is black polyamide 6.6, UV resistant and heat stabilised, halogen and silicone free and rated UL 94 V-2. The plastic pawl is moulded in one piece with the head and needs little insertion force. With a tensile strength of 180 N (approx. 18 kg), it is intended for light to medium bundles. Other lengths and widths in black can be found among our black cable ties.

When to choose a long, slim tie

The narrow strap is light and adds little bulk to a bundle, while the length leaves plenty of room for thick cable looms or several hoses at once. Because it is UV resistant, you can use it indoors and outdoors.

Suitable applications

• Large, light cable bundles in trays and under raised floors
• Keeping coiled cables and extension leads together
• Light pipes and hoses along outdoor frames
• Temporary fixings on building sites and at events

If the tie needs to take more force, choose a wider version or take a look at our heavy duty cable ties. If you want to open bundles again later, resealable cable ties are more practical.

Frequently asked questions about the TY300-40X-100

What is the difference from the TY300-50X-100?

Both are black, UV-resistant Ty-Fast ties of roughly the same length. The TY300-50X-100 has a wider 4.6 mm strap and a higher tensile strength of 222 N. The TY300-40X-100 is slimmer and lighter, with a tensile strength of 180 N.

Can I release and reuse this cable tie?

No. The Ty-Fast lock is designed for single use; to open the bundle, you cut the tie. For bundles you change regularly, resealable cable ties are a better choice.

Can such a narrow strap still secure a 76 mm bundle?

Yes. The bundle diameter is determined by the length of the tie, not its width. Width mainly determines tensile strength; if the bundle is under a lot of tension, choose a wider tie.
