Thomas & Betts TYZ525M: 186 x 4.8 mm Tefzel® cable tie in aquamarine, 100 per bag

Service engineers in the chemical and energy sectors carry a van full of materials, but space is always tight. The TYZ525M fits right in: a bag of 100 Tefzel® ties, 186 mm long, for the spots where an ordinary nylon tie does not last. With a bundle range of 3 to 48 mm and 222 N (approx. 23 kg) tensile strength, it covers most service work. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and we often recommend this version for installations involving heat, radiation or aggressive media.

ABB manufactures the strap from Tefzel®, an ETFE fluoropolymer with an operating range of -45 °C to +150 °C. The material is chemically inert and hydrolytically stable. Locking is by a built-in barb of 316 stainless steel, a corrosion-resistant grade, so the closure does not become the weak point either. You will find similar locking systems in other materials among our metal tooth cable ties.

This is a tie for widely varying situations, from a control cabinet next to a hot pipe to an instrument cable on a chemical pump. With UL 94 V-0, it also meets strict fire safety requirements.

Frequently asked questions about the TYZ525M

How does it differ from the TYZ25M?

It is the same aquamarine tie measuring 186 x 4.8 mm. The TYZ525M comes in bags of 100, the TYZ25M in packs of 1000. For the service van or the odd job, the bag of 100 is the most practical.

Why is the barb made of 316 stainless steel?

316 is a molybdenum-alloyed stainless steel that resists corrosion better than standard grades. In an environment with chemicals or moisture, the lock therefore stays reliable, just like the ETFE strap itself.

What if the temperature goes above +150 °C?

Then the application is outside the operating range of Tefzel®. In that case, choose stainless steel cable ties, which are suitable for higher temperatures.
