Tefzel® TYZ28M - 361mm x 4.8mm - aquamarine

Long aquamarine Tefzel® cable tie: Thomas & Betts TYZ28M, 361 x 4.8 mm, pack of 500

Need to wrap a large bundle without resorting to a heavy, wide tie? That is where the TYZ28M comes in. With a length of 361 mm, this Ty-Rap reaches a bundle diameter of up to 102 mm according to ABB, with a tensile strength of 222 N (approx. 23 kg). Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and we supply it in packs of 500 – a handy in-between quantity for projects where 100 is too few and a full bulk pack too many.

Like the other TYZ ties, the strap is made of Tefzel®, ABB's ETFE fluoropolymer. The material is non-outgassing, silicone-free, radiation resistant and usable from -45 °C to +150 °C. Locking is by a 316 stainless steel barb in the head, which holds the strap at whatever length you pull it to. You will find more ties with this locking system among our metal tooth cable ties.

TYZ28M technical specifications

When should you choose the TYZ28M?

This long tie is ideal for large but relatively light bundles in environments where outgassing, cold or heat are a concern.

Practical examples

• Cable bundles in vacuum chambers and space test set-ups
• Large instrument cable bundles around pipes and reactor vessels
• Installations in cold environments down to -45 °C
• Hose and cable packages in cleanrooms and laboratories

If you work in freezer rooms or outdoor installations with harsh winters, compare our cold-resistant cable ties as well. To identify bundles at a glance, cable ties with marker label are a practical addition.

Frequently asked questions about the TYZ28M

Is the TYZ28M stronger than the shorter TYZ25M?

No, both have a tensile strength of 222 N. Length determines how large the bundle can be, not how much force the tie holds. The TYZ28M wraps bundles up to 102 mm, the TYZ25M up to 48 mm.

Can I use the TYZ28M in a vacuum?

Yes. Tefzel® is non-outgassing, meaning it releases no volatile substances in a vacuum. That is why this series is used in aerospace and in test chambers, among other areas.

How does the tie behave in severe cold?

Once fitted, the TYZ28M remains usable down to -45 °C. Note that the manufacturer specifies a minimum of -20 °C for the installation itself.
