For thick power cables or a set of lines running right next to hot process parts, you need a tie that is both strong and temperature-proof. The TYZ27M is a heavy-duty Tefzel® version from ABB, with a tensile strength of 540 N (approx. 55 kg) and a bundle range of 6 to 95 mm. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and we supply this Ty-Rap in packs of 100 – enough for a complete cable run without building up a large bulk stock.

The strap is made of ETFE, processed by ABB as Tefzel®. This fluoropolymer is rated from -45 °C to +150 °C, resists radiation and is chemically inert. A 316 stainless steel barb in the head bites into the strap and will not let go under load. If you regularly work in hot zones, our heat-resistant cable ties offer further options.

Applications of the TYZ27M

The 340 mm strap closes around a bundle of up to 95 mm in one pass. Thanks to UL 94 V-0 and its chemical resistance, the tie also belongs in installations with strict fire safety requirements.

Frequently asked questions about the TYZ27M

How much force can the TYZ27M take?

ABB specifies a minimum tensile strength of 540 N, roughly 55 kg. That is the load at which the loop fails, so allow a generous safety margin in practice and never use cable ties for lifting loads.

What is the difference between the TYZ27M and the TYZ527M?

Technically they are identical: the same aquamarine Tefzel® tie measuring 340 x 6.9 mm. The TYZ27M holds 100 pieces, the TYZ527M 50. If you only have a few bundles to make, the smaller pack is sufficient.

Do I need a tool to tighten this wide tie?

Hand tightening works fine, but with a wider, stiffer strap a tensioning tool gives more even tension and cuts off the excess tail flush in one movement. That avoids sharp ends that can cause injuries.
