View here the datasheet for the Thomas & Betts Ty-Met cable ties.Fixing stainless ties to galvanised cable trays, aluminium profiles or cables with a delicate sheath? Then a coated version is the sensible choice. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and the YLS-4.6-300BC is the tie we recommend for offshore, shipbuilding and petrochemical work. Its 300 mm length secures bundles up to 83 mm.
The core is AISI 316 stainless steel, which resists salt and chemicals better than 304. It is fully covered with a black polyester coating that is low-smoke and halogen-free. This layer separates the stainless steel from other metals to prevent galvanic corrosion, and protects the cable sheath from the edges of the strap. The ball-lock engages automatically as soon as you pull the strap tight. Uncoated versions are available among our stainless steel cable ties.

Wherever salt water, weather and mixed metals meet, this tie lasts. The coating does limit the maximum temperature to +150 °C; for hotter applications, choose an uncoated stainless steel tie.
Looking for a plastic tie for long-term outdoor use? Have a look at our extra UV-resistant cable ties. For the heaviest bundles we also offer a range of heavy duty cable ties.
B stands for AISI 316 stainless steel. The additional C means the tie is fully coated. The BC version therefore combines the corrosion resistance of 316 with an insulating polyester layer.
When stainless steel touches another metal in the presence of moisture, galvanic corrosion can occur. The polyester coating prevents that contact.
According to ABB, from -80 °C to +150 °C. Uncoated stainless ties go up to +300 °C, but lack the protective layer.
