Thomas & Betts TY529M - 771mm x 6.9mm - natural

Natural cable tie for indoor use: Thomas & Betts TY529M, 771 x 6.9 mm, 50 pieces

Not every long cable tie needs to be black. In plant rooms, production halls and warehouses, an uncoloured tie is less conspicuous and keeps the installation looking tidy. The TY529M is the natural version of the 771 mm Ty-Rap and secures bundles from 6 to 229 mm. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and we supply this tie in packs of 50 – enough for a sizeable job without a half-empty box left sitting on the shelf.

The strap is made of uncoloured polyamide 6.6 and is both halogen-free and silicone-free. The latter is valued wherever silicone is unwelcome, such as in paint shops. A 316 stainless steel barb in the head locks the strap steplessly at any point. As natural polyamide is not UV-stabilised, this tie is intended for indoor use. You will find more light-coloured versions among our white cable ties.

TY529M properties

Indoor applications for the natural TY529M

With 534 N tensile strength and a reach of up to 229 mm, the TY529M can handle a fair load, as long as it stays out of the sun. It is suitable for temperatures up to +85 °C and can be installed from -20 °C, so you can also use it in unheated storage areas.

Where you can use the TY529M

• Cable bundles above suspended ceilings and in indoor trays
• Pipework in plant rooms and boiler houses
• Bundling pipes, profiles and hoses in the warehouse
• Installations in paint shops and other silicone-free areas

Does the bundle need to go outside after all, or will it hang behind glass in direct sunlight? Then choose a UV-resistant tie from our black cable ties. To make bundles in a plant room easy to identify, cable ties with marker label are a handy addition.

Frequently asked questions about the TY529M

Can I use the TY529M outdoors?

We advise against it. According to ABB, natural polyamide 6.6 is not UV-stable and may weaken over time in sunlight. For outdoor work in this size, choose the black TY529MX or the TY29MX.

What does 'natural' mean for a cable tie?

Natural means that no colourant has been added to the polyamide. The tie therefore has the light, uncoloured shade of the base material, which in practice looks white to cream.

What temperature range is the TY529M suitable for?

According to ABB, the natural version is suitable for -60 °C to +85 °C and can be installed from -20 °C. For higher temperatures, it is better to look at dedicated heat-resistant ties.
