In control cabinets, machine housings and plant rooms you want a cable tie that holds firmly without standing out. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and the TY527MR fits that brief perfectly: an uncoloured heavy-duty tie, 340 mm long, with a tensile strength of 534 N (approx. 54 kg). It bundles diameters from 6 to 102 mm and comes in a Euro-slot bag of 50 that you can simply hang on a pegboard or stores rack.

The strap is made of natural polyamide 6.6, halogen-free and silicone-free, with a UL94 V-2 flammability rating. A grade 316 stainless steel barb locks it at any point, so the bundle stays put under vibration or tension. Because uncoloured polyamide is not UV resistant, this tie is intended for indoor use. What is the difference between the TY527MR and the TY527MXR?

Size, tensile strength and locking mechanism are identical. The TY527MXR is black and UV resistant, so also suitable outdoors, whereas the natural TY527MR is intended for indoor use and is rated up to +85 °C rather than +105 °C.

Is there a detectable version of this size?

Yes, the TY527MR-NDT. It is blue and detectable, intended for areas where fragments of cable ties must be traceable with detection equipment, such as food processing. You will find it among our detectable cable ties.

Is this cable tie halogen-free?

Yes. According to ABB, the polyamide 6.6 is halogen- and silicone-free and complies with RoHS3 and REACH. Its UL94 V-2 rating makes it well suited to electrical installations.
