Short natural cable tie for control panels: Thomas & Betts TY523MR, 92 x 2.4 mm

In a crowded control panel, every millimetre counts. The TY523MR is a compact 92 mm Ty-Rap that holds small bundles up to 16 mm in diameter tightly together without leaving long tails. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and we supply this size mainly to panel builders, electricians and cable harness makers. Each bag holds 100 ties.

The strap is made of uncoloured polyamide 6.6 and is free of halogens and silicone. The low-profile head with its 316 stainless steel barb grips the smooth, serration-free strap: you tension it in infinitely small steps and the lock does not slip back. That makes it more dependable than a standard nylon tie with a plastic pawl. Other sizes with the same system are listed under our metal tooth cable ties.

Where to use the TY523MR

The natural version is intended for indoor use: uncoloured polyamide is not UV-stabilised and may become brittle over time in direct sunlight. Inside cabinets, appliances and building installations, however, this short tie gives a particularly neat result.

Can I use the TY523MR outdoors?

We advise against it. Natural polyamide is not designed for prolonged sunlight. For outdoor use, choose the black TY523MXR: same size, but UV resistant.

Is there a detectable version of this size?

Yes, the TY523MR-NDT. It is designed for environments where any stray parts must be picked up by a detector, such as the food industry.

What bundle sizes can a 92 mm tie secure?

Bundles from 1.5 to 16 mm in diameter. It is the length of the tie that determines the maximum bundle size, so for thicker bundles choose a longer size.
