Long, slim natural cable tie: Thomas & Betts TY234M, 356 x 2.4 mm

Some bundles are thick but light, such as a loom of thin control wires or a coil of patch leads. What you need then is length, not a heavy strap. The TY234M pairs a 356 mm length with a narrow 2.4 mm strap and so wraps bundles up to 102 mm. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and we supply this natural Ty-Rap in boxes of 1000, ideal for harness assembly and larger installation jobs.

It is made of natural polyamide 6.6, free of halogens and silicone and rated UL94 V-2. The strap has no notches, so it feeds smoothly through the head and locks wherever you want. A grade 316 stainless steel barb bites into the strap and holds it without springing back, giving you a tight, even bundle even at a large circumference. With a tensile strength of 80 N, the TY234M is meant for bundles with plenty of volume but little load. Natural polyamide is not UV-stabilised, so use it indoors: in installations, workshops and production areas.

Frequently asked questions about the TY234M

Why is this tie so long yet so narrow?

Length determines bundle diameter and width determines tensile strength. The TY234M therefore wraps bundles up to 102 mm, while the narrow strap stays light and flexible for bundles that carry little load.

What should I do with the long tail?

Cut the tail close to the head after tightening, ideally with a cable tie tool. That leaves no sharp edge for you or the cables to catch on.

Can I use the TY234M inside a control panel?

Yes. The polyamide 6.6 is halogen-free and rated UL94 V-2, which suits indoor installations well. Do not use it outdoors, as the natural version is not UV-resistant.
