Fine control and signal wires in a panel deserve something more delicate than a chunky tie. That is where the TY232M comes in: a slim, natural Ty-Rap measuring 203 mm long and 2.4 mm wide. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and this miniature size is a regular order for panel builders and electronics assemblers. The box of 1000 is sized for people who wire every day.

The strap is made of halogen-free polyamide 6.6 rated UL94 V-2 and has no ratchet notches, so it locks steplessly at any point. The low-profile head holds a grade 316 stainless steel barb that digs into the strap as soon as you pull it tight. Even a small bundle of thin conductors stays firmly in place, with no slipping back. Made for fine indoor bundling

With a bundle range of 1.5 to 51 mm and a tensile strength of 80 N, the TY232M is built for light-duty work where a neat finish matters more than raw strength. The uncoloured polyamide is not UV-stabilised, so it belongs indoors.

Frequently asked questions about the TY232M

Can I use the TY232M outdoors?

We would advise against it. According to ABB, natural polyamide is not UV-stable and can become brittle in sunlight over time. For outdoor work choose the black TY232MX in the same size, or the TY5232MXR if you need a smaller quantity.

Is 80 N of tensile strength enough for my job?

For thin conductors and light cables, yes. If the tie has to carry real load, choose a wider strap: a wider cable tie offers higher tensile strength, such as the TY242M at 178 N.

Why is the head so low?

The low profile means the head barely protrudes, so nothing catches when you feed cables into trunking or close a cabinet door.
