per 100 Pieces
Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties. Detectable Ty-Rap cable ties reduce the risk of product contamination. If a piece breaks off or a cut-off tail goes missing, it is found before it reaches the customer.
Detection works in three ways: the bright blue colour stands out visually against food, and the material is formulated so that both metal detectors and X-ray systems pick it up. As with every Ty-Rap, the head contains a 316 stainless steel barb.

The part number ends in -NDT or -PDT. The NDT version is made of polyamide 6.6 (nylon) and is the standard choice for most applications. The PDT version is made of polypropylene, which Thomas & Betts recommends for liquid-processing applications.
You will find detectable ties from other brands among our detectable cable ties. If the secure stainless steel barb lock matters most, also take a look at our metal tooth cable ties.
Blue hardly ever occurs naturally in food, so a blue fragment is immediately noticed during visual inspection.
The detectable additive is distributed throughout the material, so loose pieces are also picked up by metal detection and X-ray. Sensitivity does depend on how your detection equipment is set up.
NDT stands for the nylon (polyamide 6.6) version, PDT for the polypropylene version.
