Thomas & Betts TYC29MX - 771mm x 7.6mm - black

Extra-long Thomas & Betts TYC29MX cable tie: 771 x 7.6 mm, black polyamide 12, pack of 500

Need to secure thick cable bundles, pipes or posts up to almost 23 cm in diameter with a single tie? That is what the TYC29MX is for. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and this 771 mm tie mainly goes to installers of solar farms, telecom sites and port facilities, where large bundles have to stay put outdoors.

The 7.6 mm strap is made of black polyamide 12. This material copes with UV light, weathering and chemicals better than standard polyamide 6.6, and absorbs less moisture. The locking is classic Ty-Rap: a 316 stainless steel barb in the head holds the strap at any position. If you often work in full sun, also take a look at our extra UV-resistant cable ties.

TYC29MX technical data

Large bundles, one tie

With a bundle range of 6 to 229 mm, the TYC29MX often replaces two ties linked together. That saves installation time and gives a stronger, neater fixing. The pack of 500 suits large outdoor projects.

Typical outdoor uses

• Cable bundles along masts and lighting columns
• Main and string cables on solar farms
• Fixing hoses and lines to large-diameter pipes
• Temporary barriers and site facilities outdoors

Does the bundle need to carry even more load? You will find stronger versions among our heavy duty cable ties. Long ties are easiest to tighten with one of our cable tie tools.

Frequently asked questions about the TYC29MX

How does the TYC29MX compare with the TY29MX?

Both are 771 mm long, black and supplied in packs of 500. The TY29MX has a 6.9 mm strap in polyamide 6.6. The TYC29MX is 7.6 mm wide and made of polyamide 12, which stands up better to UV, weather and chemicals.

Can I wrap it around a 20 cm post or pipe?

Yes. According to ABB, the TYC29MX is suitable for bundles and objects up to 229 mm in diameter.

What do I do with the long tail on smaller bundles?

After tensioning, cut the tail off flush with the head. A cable tie tool does both in one action and avoids sharp edges.
