UV-resistant black Ty-Rap TY528MXR: 361 x 4.8 mm for light outdoor bundles, 100 pieces

For cables that run outdoors but carry little weight, a wide heavy-duty tie is often overkill. That is where the TY528MXR comes in. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, supplying this long, slim tie to installers who make lots of bundles outdoors: at 361 mm long it bundles from 3 to 102 mm, and each bag contains 100 pieces.

The 4.8 mm strap is made of black polyamide 6.6 stabilised against weathering and UV radiation. It reaches a tensile strength of 222 N (approx. 23 kg) and, according to ABB, can be used from -60 °C to +105 °C. The grade 316 stainless steel barb in the head is corrosion resistant and clamps the smooth strap at any position. If the bundle will sit unprotected in strong sun for years, consider our extra UV-resistant cable ties as well.

What is the difference between the TY528MXR and the TY528MR?

Size and tensile strength are the same. The TY528MXR is black and UV resistant, so you can use it outdoors, and is rated up to +105 °C. The natural TY528MR is suitable for indoor use only and goes up to +85 °C.

How do I know whether 361 mm is long enough for my bundle?

Measure the diameter of the bundle. The TY528MXR is suitable for bundles up to 102 mm. If you are close to that limit, allow some extra length so you can grip the tail properly.

How much force can this cable tie take?

Its tensile strength is 222 N, roughly 23 kg. That is plenty for bundling light to medium cables. If real weight hangs from it or the bundle is under heavy tension, choose a wider tie such as the TY527MXR with 534 N.
