Its 203 mm length closes around bundles up to 51 mm, while the narrow 2.4 mm strap is barely noticeable on the cable.

The strap is made of halogen-free polyamide 6.6, coloured black and stabilised against weather and UV. The low-profile head carries a 316 stainless steel barb that presses into the serration-free strap, so you can tension the tie in infinitely small steps and it stays locked in any position. With a tensile strength of 80 N, the TY5232MXR is intended for light to medium bundles. That mix of generous length and narrow strap is handy when you need to hold many thin cables together without resorting to a heavy, wide tie. Being UV resistant, it can also be used on roofs and façades.

Is 80 N tensile strength enough for my job?

For bundles of thin cables, such as data and sensor leads, it is more than sufficient. If the tie has to carry weight or the bundle is under tension, choose a wider strap. The TY5242MXR is almost the same length but 3.6 mm wide and rated at 178 N.

How does it differ from the TY232MX?

Both are black metal-barb Ty-Raps from the same size range. The TY5232MXR comes in a bag of 100, while the TY232MX is packed in 1000s for users who fit this size in large numbers.

Will the metal barb rust outdoors?

No. The barb is made of 316 stainless steel, a corrosion-resistant, non-magnetic grade, and it sits enclosed in the head.
