A thick cable bundle outdoors, a hose along a post or several lines around a mast: a short tie simply will not reach. With 368 mm, the TY244MX has plenty of length for bundles up to 102 mm, and its black finish means it lasts outside too. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and we supply this long Ty-Rap in boxes of 1000 for installers, farms and maintenance departments.

The black polyamide 6.6 is stabilised against weather and UV, halogen-free and rated UL94 V-2. The smooth, notch-free strap slides easily through the low-profile head, where a grade 316 stainless steel barb locks it wherever you choose. That lets you bring even a large bundle to exactly the right tension, and it stays there. You will find more ties with this type of lock among our metal tooth cable ties.

ABB rates the TY244MX at 130 N tensile strength. It is therefore intended for large bundles that mainly need holding together, rather than for carrying heavy loads. Thanks to the UV-resistant black, you can use it in the open air without concern.

Why is the tensile strength lower than the TY242MX?

ABB rates the TY244MX at 130 N, while the shorter TY242MX with the same strap width reaches 178 N. If you need more strength at this length, choose a tie with a wider strap.

Will the TY244MX fit around a pipe or mast?

Yes, as long as the diameter stays within the 2 to 102 mm range. Allow a little extra length so you can grip the tail properly when tightening.

How do I tighten such a long tie neatly?

A cable tie tool is the easiest way: it tensions the strap and trims the long tail flush straight away, leaving no sharp edge.
