Black Thomas & Betts TY232MX 203 x 2.4 mm: a compact outdoor tie in bulk

Securing thin cables outdoors calls for a tie that is small yet stands up to sun and rain. The TY232MX does exactly that: a black 203 x 2.4 mm Ty-Rap supplied in a box of 1000 for anyone who regularly works outside. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and this black miniature version is the obvious pick as soon as your light wiring leaves the building.

The X in the part number stands for the black, weather- and UV-resistant grade of polyamide 6.6. The material is halogen-free and meets UL94 V-2. For the lock, Thomas & Betts uses a grade 316 stainless steel barb: marine quality, non-magnetic and corrosion-resistant. It grips the smooth strap at any point, so you tension the bundle exactly as tight as it needs to be. You will find similar models among our metal tooth cable ties.

The TY232MX wraps bundles from 1.5 to 51 mm with a tensile strength of 80 N. That makes it a tie for light cables and thin lines, and thanks to the UV-resistant black it is just as much at home on a roof as in a meter cupboard.

Frequently asked questions about the TY232MX

How does the TY232MX differ from the TY5232MXR?

Both are black, UV-resistant Ty-Raps in the same miniature size. The TY232MX comes in a box of 1000, while the TY5232MXR is the smaller pack of 100 for occasional use.

Will the metal barb rust?

The barb is made of grade 316 stainless steel, a corrosion-resistant marine grade, so it also performs well outdoors and in damp conditions.

What temperatures can this cable tie handle?

ABB specifies an operating range of -60 °C to +105 °C for black, UV-resistant polyamide 6.6. Ideally, do not install the tie below -30 °C.
