The Thomas & Betts TYB27MX is a heavy-duty black cable tie measuring 340 mm long and a robust 6.9 mm wide. This extra-wide strap provides the TYB27MX with a high tensile strength of 54 kg, more than double that of the 4.8 mm sizes. Therefore, this is the ideal cable tie for heavier bundles and demanding attachments. The head features the reliable stainless steel 316 locking mechanism for a consistently strong closure.

The tie is made of polyamide 6.6 (nylon) and is supplied in boxes of 500 pieces. Like the other black Thomas & Betts cable ties , the TYB27MX is UV-resistant and resistant to oil, grease, salt, and diluted chemicals.

What do you use the black TYB27MX cable tie for?

The wide TYB27MX is designed for heavier work. With a tensile strength of 54 kg, it securely holds large, heavy bundles in place, while the bundle capacity allows up to 100 mm for thick cable harnesses, hoses, and pipes. The UV-resistant black version is also excellent for outdoor use.

How do you attach a cable tie?

A cable tie (also known as a bundle strap) quickly holds cables and pipes together. With the wide TYB27MX, you lead the strap around the bundle and through the head; as soon as the strap passes the stainless steel 316 locking mechanism, the metal tab grips tightly.

Since this heavy tie can handle a lot of tension, a sturdy cable tie tool is recommended. It pulls the tie evenly to the correct tension and cuts off the excess part immediately, leaving no sharp edge behind.

How does the TYB27MX differ from the narrower sizes?

The TYB27MX is significantly wider at 6.9 mm and therefore has a tensile strength of 54 kg, compared to 23 kg for the 4.8 mm sizes. It is intended for heavier, more demanding bundle work.

Is the black TYB27MX UV resistant?

Yes. The black version is UV resistant and thus excellently suitable for prolonged outdoor use, even under heavy loads.

Why are there 500 instead of 1000 pieces in a box?

Due to the larger size and higher material weight, the TYB27MX is supplied in boxes of 500 pieces.

What is the largest bundle I can tie?

The maximum bundle diameter is 100 mm. In combination with the high tensile strength, this is ideal for thick, heavy bundles.
