As soon as a box passes 40 cm on two sides, the packing work changes: you load it on a table and you no longer lift it on your own. 700 x 400 x 400 mm gives around 110 litres, and this size goes out mainly for textiles, cushions, display material and consolidated orders. A two-person lift

At this size the limit is not the weight but the bulk. A box 70 cm wide has to be held at arm's length, which sharply increases the load on your back. Have a filled box lifted by two people, or use a sack truck. Load and unload at hip height wherever you can.

Volumetric weight and rate band

On a body of almost half a cubic metre the volumetric weight will nearly always exceed the actual weight, so the rate follows the outer dimensions rather than the contents. A box that fits precisely is noticeably cheaper here than one size too large. Seal the base of a fully loaded box in an H pattern with a wide tape.

Can one person move this box?

Empty yes, filled better not. The 70 cm width puts the load well in front of your body. Work in pairs or use a trolley.

How do I stack these boxes safely on a pallet?

Lay the long side in the same direction throughout and stack squarely on top of each other so the corners rest on each other. That is where the strength of corrugated board sits.

Does this size work as a return box?

It does, as long as the flaps are not torn on opening. Cut the tape along the seam rather than pulling it off, and the same box closes a second time.
