A euro norm footprint and a height of 400 mm put 600 x 400 x 400 mm at around 96 litres. That is close to the upper limit of what a single layer of fluting can reasonably carry, which is exactly why this model comes in 4 mm C-flute. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for folding boxes in single wall quality, and no other size brings us as many questions about where single wall ends and double wall begins.
Four panels of 400 mm want to bow outwards as soon as the box is loaded, and the taller C-flute is what keeps them straight. Fill the box right up to the flaps, because a half-empty box of this size buckles the moment anything is set on top of it. A sheet from our range of protective and filling materials closes the last void.
Ninety-six litres of light material lifts easily enough, but with dense contents it quickly becomes a two-person job. Take hold of the box low down and keep it against your body rather than on outstretched arms. If you go through these regularly, the tiered prices are worth a look, because the price per box drops as the quantity rises.

With 4 mm C-flute and a properly filled interior, yes. Leave air inside and the wall bows outwards, taking the stacking strength with it.
As soon as the contents turn dense or the boxes stand several layers high. A double wall box in the same size withstands considerably more stacking pressure.
Check the external measurements first. They run a few millimetres above the stated internal size on each side, which is what matters with tight shelving.
