The bigger the box, the more the grade of board matters. That is why we supply this format in 4 mm C-flute: thicker and springier than the 3 mm grade, yet still a single layer of fluting. What the C-flute does

The coarser C-flute behaves like a spring: the wall gives under an impact and returns to shape. Do allow for the external size coming out slightly larger than on the thinner grade. That is useful to know if the box has to fit a tight shelf bay or a roll cage.

Frequently asked questions

How does a C-flute differ from the flatter B-flute?

The flute is taller and coarser, which gives more spring and more resistance to denting for only a small difference in tare weight. The flatter grade takes print a little better.

Do I need extra filling material?

In a tall box, yes. Pack out the space above the goods with protective and filling materials, or the top flap sinks the moment anything rests on it.

When is single wall board no longer enough?

Once the box is heavily loaded or sits at the bottom of a tall stack. Then move to a double wall shipping box, which takes stacking pressure better, and lay a sheet of board between layers to spread the load.
