Cube box 500 x 500 x 500 mm - 125 litres in 4 mm single wall

A true cube is mathematically the most economical format there is: no other shape encloses this much volume with so little surface. At 500 x 500 x 500 mm that works out at 125 litres per box. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for shipping boxes in single wall board, and within our range of folding boxes this is the largest model one person can still handle alone.

Why a C-flute here

The box is single wall in 4 mm with a C-flute. At this volume that is a deliberate choice: the C-flute stands taller than the B-flute of the 3 mm grade and gives walls half a metre across the stiffness they need. For bulky, well cushioned consignments, pair the cube with suitable protective and filling materials.

Frequently asked questions

Does volumetric weight matter at this size?

Yes. Many carriers charge 125 litres on volumetric weight rather than on the actual weight. Check your rate band before you put light contents in the largest box you have.

Is single wall board enough with this much inside?

For light and medium-light loads it is. Fill a 125 litre cube heavily and you reach the limit of single wall board, at which point a double wall grade is the better answer.

How do I lift a cube this size once it is full?

Use two people or a sack truck. The sides are so wide that reaching around them alone is awkward, which is exactly how flaps get torn. Keep the route from bench to despatch short.
