A square footprint packs differently from an oblong one. There is no long side and no short side, so you never have to wrestle the contents into one direction and the clearance around the load is the same everywhere. At 500 x 500 x 330 mm this is a half-height tub holding a good 80 litres. Material and quality

The board is single wall, 4 mm thick and built around a C-flute. With a wide footprint that thicker grade is no luxury: the base spans half a metre in two directions and still has to stay rigid. If you need the same surface in a double wall grade, look at the double wall shipping boxes.

Frequently asked questions

When is a square box better than a rectangular one?

As soon as the contents have no clear longest side. With rolls, tubs or loose sets the square surface saves void fill, because the gap to the wall is the same on all four sides.

How do I close a lid this wide neatly?

Fold the two lower flaps first, then the upper pair, and tape the centre seam in one continuous pass. Over surfaces of half a metre a dispenser works far faster than separate strips.

Does a lid or a divider come with it?

No, this is a regular slotted box with meeting flaps top and bottom. If you want a layer between products, cut a sheet of board to size and drop it in yourself.
