Cardboard box 460 x 260 x 260 mm - narrow and long for equipment and parts

A square 260 by 260 mm profile with a length of 460 mm gives you a box that works standing up as well as lying down. That makes 460 x 260 x 260 mm a good match for equipment and components that have more length than width and only need support in one direction. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for single wall boxes and for the rest of our cardboard boxes, and this size goes mainly to technical suppliers and installation firms.

The quality is single wall 4 mm board with a C-flute. On a long model that choice pays off, because the long side is the weak point of any box and the coarser flute keeps that wall taut. It also means you can stand the box upright in racking without it buckling. A thinner 3 mm version is part of our other folding boxes.

Frequently asked questions

Can the contents be longer than the box?

No. Parts that stick out are almost always damaged during sorting. Stay at least a centimetre inside the internal dimensions and pad the ends, because that is where most of the knocks land.

Can I stand this box upright in racking?

Yes, and that is one of the reasons to choose 4 mm board. Place filled boxes with the base down rather than on an end panel, because the flaps are not meant to carry weight.

How do I pack several components in one box?

Separate them with strips of corrugated board or wrap each part in bubble film. Metal against metal causes scuff damage even when the box itself arrives intact.
