A wide, low model has one critical point, and that is the base. The larger the surface, the sooner it bends under concentrated weight. That is why this 430 x 350 x 200 mm size is made in a single wall of 4 mm rather than 3 mm. C-flute stands taller than the B-flute that goes with 3 mm. That extra flute height makes the surface stiffer and the wall springier, so a knock is absorbed and the box returns to shape afterwards. For flat and reasonably heavy loads it is the comfortable middle course between light single wall and double wall board.

Why is this size made in 4 mm instead of 3 mm?

The base area is larger than on the three hundred millimetre wide sizes. A wider surface asks for a stiffer build, otherwise the base sags as soon as the load gets heavier.

What is the best way to load flat heavy goods?

Spread across the whole surface and never on a single point. With several sheets, lay a piece of board between the layers so the load spreads and the products do not rub against each other.

Is this already comparable to double wall board?

No. It remains one fluted layer, only a taller one. For heavy stacking loads or contents with pointed parts, double wall shipping boxes stay the stronger option.
