A true cube at 400 x 400 x 400 mm, which works out at sixty-four litres of space. The same edge length on every side brings a practical advantage: you do not have to think about orientation while packing, and the contents have the same room for cushioning all round. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for single wall shipping boxes, and this is the largest format in the range.
On a cube of this edge length the board thickness matters. The side walls are tall and wide, so a thin wall would bulge once the box is full. That is why this model is made in 4 mm C-flute rather than 3 mm B-flute. If genuinely heavy material goes in, or the box sits at the bottom of a tall stack, double wall shipping boxes are the safer option.
Bulky equipment: machines and appliances with accessories around them.
Consolidated shipments: many smaller boxes bundled into one outer carton.
Light bulk goods: foam, insulation, plastic parts and cushioning material.

With most carriers it does, but this size sits close to the limit of the favourable rate bands. Check the dimensions your carrier allows before you adopt this format as a standard box.
Fill it layer by layer and slide in board dividers when the items are loose. In a cube the contents can travel in three directions, so packing out matters more here than in a shallow box.
A few layers are fine, as long as you stack on the corners and the boxes are filled. For a house move on a larger scale, moving boxes with hand holes are easier to handle.
