This height is intended for contents that just will not fit into a 250 mm box. 400 x 300 x 270 mm adds two centimetres, and that is often precisely enough to let the top flaps close flat instead of being pulled taut over the load. On top of that, this version is made in 4 mm C-flute rather than 3 mm. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for single wall boxes, and this format sits in our range of folding boxes.
Compared with the 250 mm tall version, two things change: the box is slightly taller and the wall is thicker. C-flute has a coarser fluting layer, springs back more strongly and keeps a tall side wall straight when the box is filled to the top. In exchange you leave a little more room for cushioning around the goods. For genuinely heavy consignments at this height, double wall shipping boxes remain the sensible choice.
Equipment with accessories: the main item below, accessories above.
Glass and ceramics: packed upright with a buffer on every side.
Tall tins and canisters: items that must not be laid down.

For two reasons. The extra 20 mm gives clearance for a covering layer of cushioning, and this version is made in 4 mm board while the lower size is 3 mm. With fragile goods that difference weighs more heavily than the height itself.
Allow roughly two centimetres all round for fragile contents. C-flute springs back well, but that spring-back only works if the load is not resting hard against the wall.
It does. The 400 x 300 mm footprint lines up neatly with the dimensions of a euro pallet, so you can stack without losing space.
