Single wall box 400x300x180 mm

Folding box 400 x 300 x 180 mm - the in-between height in 4 mm single wall

Between a shallow box of 150 mm and a genuinely tall one of 250 mm there is a gap that a great many consignments fall into. The 400 x 300 x 180 mm version closes exactly that gap. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for single wall shipping cartons and we stock this height alongside our other cardboard boxes. Customers tend to appreciate it only once they notice that their contents just miss out in the shallow version and start sliding in the tall one.

Why 4 mm C-flute

The board is 4 mm thick in a C-flute construction. One fluting layer, but a coarser one than at 3 mm, which gives a stiffer wall and more spring-back. At 180 mm of height that pays off, because a taller side wall needs more stiffness to stay straight once the box is full.

Applications

Two layers of items: twice around 85 mm with cushioning in between.
Shoes and leather goods: shoe boxes stand upright without being crushed.
Jars, bottles and tins: enough height to keep them standing up.

Questions and answers

How does this box differ from the 400 x 300 x 160 mm?

Only in height, 180 instead of 160 mm. Footprint, board thickness and flute type are identical, so you can run both sizes side by side on the same packing line without changing your routine.

How many packs go on a pallet?

This format ships at 48 packs per pallet, one of the highest counts in the range. That makes a full pallet attractive if you use the size continuously.

Can I stack several layers of these boxes?

Yes, provided you stack on the corners. That is where corrugated board carries its load. For heavy contents, double wall shipping boxes remain the better choice for the bottom layers of a tall stack.
