A large, low box has a challenge a small one does not: the base panel is wide and wants to sag. That is why we stock this 400 x 300 x 100 mm format in 4 mm single wall with C-flute rather than the thinner 3 mm. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for corrugated cardboard boxes, and on flat models that board choice is a necessity rather than a luxury.

The taller C-flute keeps the large panel stiff, so flat contents stay flat and the top flaps close level. At the same time it remains a single wall box: one flute layer, so a limited outer size and a favourable shipping volume. For genuinely heavy panels, look at double wall shipping boxes, and for edge protection at our protective and filling materials.

Frequently asked questions

Can anything stand on top of a flat box?

A light box of the same format can, as long as you set corner on corner. A heavy load on a low box always ends up in the middle of the base panel, and that is the weak point.

How do I stop flat contents from sliding?

Lay the contents to fit across the full internal size and fill the remaining edges with strips of board. A cover layer under the flaps keeps the stack flat and tight.

How quickly does this wide model go up?

Fold the two short bottom flaps first and the long ones after, then run the seam in one pass. On large footprints a tape dispenser works considerably faster than tearing off separate strips.
