We stock this size in two board thicknesses, and this is the sturdy version: 400 x 270 x 200 mm in 4 mm single wall C-flute. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for single wall folding boxes and we deliberately offer both variants, because the same box is used for very different contents.

The difference is the flute height. The 3 mm B-flute is finer and flatter, the logical choice for textiles, print work or light articles. The 4 mm C-flute has a taller flute and therefore more spring and more puncture resistance. That is what you want for equipment, for parts with hard edges and for anything you would rather not send twice. Heavier again, or stacked higher? Then a double wall shipping box comes into play.

When is the 3 mm version of this size enough?

For light, soft or flat contents with no points or sharp edges. You then save on price and on outer size, because the wall is a millimetre thinner.

Is the internal size smaller with 4 mm board?

No, the stated 400 x 270 x 200 mm is the internal size for both thicknesses. Only the outer size comes out a millimetre larger per side on the 4 mm version.

Which tape works best on 4 mm board?

A common 48 or 50 mm roll is enough. For heavy contents choose a tape with a strong backing and seal the base in an H pattern.
