Long side walls need a coarse flute

A box 300 mm tall has a lot of surface that can bow outwards. The coarse C-flute resists that better than a fine B-flute and absorbs knocks on the edges more effectively. Together with a complete fill the shape survives the whole journey, even when the box is transferred along the way. Make sure the top layer reaches the flaps, so the lid has support once something is stacked on it.

Where is the limit of single wall at this size?

With light to medium goods that are properly filled out, 4 mm copes easily. For heavy concentrated mass or several stacked tiers, double wall shipping boxes are the better place to go.

How do I fill this box properly?

Work in layers: the heaviest at the bottom, lighter items on top, and finish with a layer of paper or air cushions. That keeps the centre of gravity low and stops anything shifting.

Can these boxes be stored flat?

Yes, they are delivered flat and take up hardly any shelf space. They are assembled only at the moment of packing, which saves a lot of floor area at this volume, so larger packs and flat storage work well together.
