With a tall box the wall matters more than the base. When pressure comes from above, or the box stands at the bottom of a stack, 4 mm C-flute behaves noticeably more calmly than 3 mm. That is exactly why we supply this size in the thicker quality. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for tall single wall shipping boxes, and we recommend the internal size of 310 x 220 x 250 mm to customers who want to stack filled boxes. What the coarse flute does

C-flute has a coarser structure than the B-flute in the 3 mm series. The wall is therefore not only thicker but also springier: it gives a little on impact and then comes back to shape. That helps with consignments that travel over sorting belts and get handled repeatedly, and it keeps the long side walls straight. On a tall model that property decides whether a box still stands square after several transfers.

When should I pick 4 mm over 3 mm at this height?

As soon as the box is stacked, or the contents amount to more than a few light items. For light, bulky goods 3 mm is sufficient and saves material. On mixed consignments the thicker quality saves deciding per order.

What is the best way to fill a tall box?

In layers and right up to the flaps, because a tall box takes part of its strength from its contents. Suitable protective and filling materials keep the centre of gravity low.

Can this box stand at the bottom of a pallet layer?

With 4 mm C-flute and a well-filled box that is possible. Line the corners up above one another and use a layer pad between the tiers when the contents are heavy.
