This size sits right in the middle of the common parcel formats, but the board is a step heavier than you would expect from single wall: 305 x 220 x 100 mm in 4 mm with C-flute instead of the usual 3 mm B-flute. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for cardboard boxes, and we deliberately stock both qualities, because not every shipment calls for the same wall.
A C-flute has a coarser flute structure and therefore a taller layer between the two smooth liners. The box absorbs knocks better and stays squarer even when fully loaded. Do allow for a little more void fill, because the thicker wall gives way less during packing and, once set up, this model builds a few millimetres larger than a comparable 3 mm box.
Dense contents: tools, parts, bottles and tins.
Sharp edges: the thicker wall is less prone to being punctured.
Heavy handling: shipments that are sorted or transhipped several times.
A second trip: boxes that also have to carry a return back to you.

A taller flute means more spring and a stiffer wall. You notice it most with contents that are densely packed for their volume and with consignments that see a lot of handling on the way.
A little more, yes. The thicker wall flexes less while you pack, so fill the gap between contents and wall properly with protective and filling materials rather than squeezing everything tight.
As soon as the boxes go several layers high on a pallet or the contents become really substantial. Double wall shipping boxes are then the safer step. We are glad to compare both qualities for your own shipping profile.
